Richard L. Taylor, 35, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Born on October 16, 1990, Richard grew up to be a kind, caring, and gentle person who was helpful and supportive to his family and friends. He was a loving caregiver to his mother, Cynthia, and assisted her without grumbling or being demeaning.
While chatting with his friends, Richard was known for providing them with advice and words of encouragement. This came naturally for him as it was a part of his charismatic charm. He also had a unique sense of humor that gave endless smiles, radiant sunshine, and heartfelt joy to those around him.
During his younger years, Richard had an academic appreciation for both science and history. As he became an adult, he continued to read about history and found it exhilarating to share little known facts with each one he encountered. He will be missed by those who understood his precious and extraordinary personality.
Richard was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sudie Hague Smith; aunts, Gloria Collins and Brenda Smith; uncles, Robert and James Smith. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Cynthia M. Taylor; his grandfather, Lawrence Taylor; uncle, Walter Smith; godmother, Vernita Taylor; and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service has been planned for June 27, 2026. Please visit this same website for time and location details beginning June 6, 2026.
