Richard “Dick” Charles Hayden, 80, of Toledo, Ohio died peacefully on October 5, 2025. Dick was born in Toledo, Ohio and was a graduate of Libbey High School.
He was an accomplished carpenter who retired from Rudolph Libbe Inc. Once retired, he continued to work as a trusted carpenter, often building beautiful things for family or helping others with house repairs or projects.
Passionate about woodworking and carpentry, he often spent his free time working in his garage, whittling, or walking the aisles at Menards. He was an avid fisherman and birdwatcher. His many birdfeeders ended up feeding all of the neighborhood birds, squirrels, and chipmunks. He loved his family, the outdoors, and cheering on his favorite football teams.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Carol. He is survived by his daughters Stephanie (David) and Robin (Micheal); grandchildren Samantha (Joseph), Katie, Lottie (David), Lexie (Scott), Courtney (Brandon), and Rick (Marissa) ; and great grandchildren Lucette, Ryan, Maddox, Colson, Braxton, and Greyson.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 10:00 until noon at Newcomer Funeral Home - West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd, Toledo.
