Richard Allen Bradish

Richard Allen Bradish, age 71, passed away peacefully September 27 surrounded by family. He will be dearly missed.

Richard was born on May 26, 1955 to Harold and Jeannine Bradish in Toledo, Ohio. He lived in Toledo his entire life, graduating from Whitmer High School in 1973. Richard attended and was actively involved with First Alliance Church, where he met his future wife, Debbi, who he married in 1975.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Debbi, with whom he built a wonderful life. He had great love for his four children, Jason (Bekah), Allison (Scott), Jordan (Samantha), and Nathan (Amanda). He is also survived by his sister, Debra, as well as his nine grandchildren, of whom he was extremely proud. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul.

Beyond his family, Richard leaves behind countless friends who were fortunate to know him. It would be impossible to list them all, as Richard never knew a stranger. He could spend only a few minutes with someone, and by the end of their conversation, he would know their life story and remember to ask how their loved ones were doing the next time he saw them. He truly loved people and had a gift for making everyone feel known and valued. He always offered a warm greeting and a listening ear to anyone he met.

Richard was diagnosed with cancer in the fall of 2024. He fought this disease, alongside a host of other medical issues, relentlessly through various surgeries and treatments. Throughout this season, he continued to be a joy to those around him. He took the time to get to know each and every medical professional who cared for him, often becoming a favorite patient and deeply impacting those he encountered throughout his treatments. He always had room in his life for more relationships and, despite his own struggles, continued to have the capacity to love and care for others.

Richard's love and care for others was not simply a part of his personality; it was the result of a deep, lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. Through the joys and many struggles of life, his faith was something that never wavered. He was always quick to give his life away for the sake of others, just as Jesus did. This was evident in his involvement with First Alliance Church, where he served as an elder and poured his heart into the many programs and initiatives the church offered. The legacy of Richard's faith will undoubtedly continue to impact many generations to come.

A memorial service will be held on October 2nd, 2026 at 11:00am at First Alliance Church. His family would love for you to join them in celebrating Richard's life and honoring the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
