Richard A. Wodarski, a dedicated Tool Maker and U.S. Army veteran, passed away peacefully in Sylvania, Ohio on August 10, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on July 23, 1939, in Toledo, Richard was a beloved member of his community and a cherished family man.
Richard dedicated over 30 years of his career at Jeep, where he honed his skills and built lasting relationships. After his time at Jeep, he continued to serve the community by working in transportation for ABC Auction. His commitment to his work reflected his energetic and compassionate nature, qualities that those who knew him deeply appreciated.
He received his education at St. Stanislas Grade School and Macomber High School, laying a strong foundation for his later achievements. Richard was known for his generous spirit, donating to charities such as St Jude Children's Research Hospital, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. He had a remarkable sense of humor and often delighted family and friends by singing “Happy Birthday” in Polish, creating cherished memories that will endure.
An avid golfer and bowler, Richard enjoyed many recreational activities throughout his life. He had a passion for dancing and frequently attended auctions, where he found joy in both participating and observing. He was also an avid builder and collector of model cars, showcasing his creative side and love for craftsmanship.
Richard was proud of his family, having been married to the love of his life, Marvell J. Wodarski, for 48½ years until her passing in 2010. His legacy is carried on by his loving sons, Mark (Joy) Wodarski and Todd (Tammy L) Wodarski. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher (Jessica), Joshua (Ashley), and Amber, along with his step-grandchildren, Sarah and Katie. His great-grandchildren, Bryson, Corbin, Garrett, Ella, Owen, Jacie, Leevi, and his step great-grandchildren Colby and Deacon, all of whom were a source of immense joy for Richard, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He will be missed by his only brother and friend, Ronald (Ellen) Wodarski.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Virginia Wodarski, as well as his sons, Jeffrey, Shawn, and Scott, and his beloved wife, Marvell.
Richard’s contributions to his family and community will be remembered fondly. His warm personality and generous heart touched many lives, and those who were fortunate enough to know him will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
