Rex Allen Bucher, age 65, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away at his home on October 31, 2026.

Rex was born on December 8, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio, to Philip Roy Bucher and Elizabeth Jeanne Bucher Bell. He grew up in Swanton, Ohio, and graduated from Swanton High School. He continued his education at the University of Toledo, studying engineering from 1982 to 1985. He later pursued business studies at St. Louis Community College from 1989 to 1990 and returned to the University of Toledo in 2001 to further his business education.

Rex worked in the printing industry, but his true passion was motorcycles and small engine repair. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and took great pride in owning and operating his own business, Brace Cycles.

On June 14, 1986, Rex married Mary Kathleen Kenny. Together they welcomed their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, on June 2, 1988. Although they later divorced, their marriage brought him the gift of fatherhood. Rex eventually relocated to Minnesota for work.

Rex had a lifelong love of music and especially enjoyed singing. However, his greatest passion was motocross and short track motorcycle racing. He began racing at just 10 years old, learning from his father, Philip Bucher, and professional motocross racer Bill Trefney. A talented and accomplished racer, Rex earned more than 200 trophies throughout his racing career, the majority representing first-place victories.

Beyond his own success, Rex hoped to share his knowledge and experience with the next generation of motocross riders. His dream was to help young racers develop their skills through the lessons he had learned both on the track and through his years of experience as a motorcycle and small engine mechanic.

Rex is survived by his daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Chadwell (John); his mother, Elizabeth Jeanne Bucher Bell (Allan); his sisters, Bonnie Sue Rhyand (Daniel) and Pamela Renee Bucher-Perrin; and his brother, Todd L. Bucher (Mona Lisa). He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Roy Bucher.

Rex will be remembered for his love of motorcycles, his competitive spirit, his mechanical talents, and his desire to pass along his knowledge to future generations of riders. His accomplishments on the racetrack and his passion for the sport will remain a lasting part of his legacy

Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Saturday, November 7, from 2:00-6:00PM with a service celebrating Rex’s life at 4:00PM.
