In Loving Memory of Raj Reddy
Raj Tudi Reddy, born in Ootlapally, India, to Renuka and Channakrishna Tudi, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the eldest of three children and is survived by his wife, Sapna, mother, Renuka, two sons, Arjun and Aniroodh, granddaughter, Aanya, brother, Ashok, sister, Radhika, and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, love, and cherished memories.
Raj pursued his education with determination, earning a degree in engineering in Mandya, India, and obtaining a master's degree from Northeastern University. On August 21, 1989, he married the love of his life, Sapna, and together they built a life filled with love and joy.
Throughout his life, Raj lived in Detroit, Michigan, and Toledo, Ohio, making a meaningful impact as a mechanical engineer for various companies, with his longest and most fulfilling tenure at Chrysler.
Raj was a devoted family man, finding true happiness when surrounded by his loved ones. His favorite shirt, his "Aanya's Tatha" shirt, was a testament to his deep connection with family. He enjoyed spending time watching sports with his sons, especially relishing watching India's victory in the 2011 ICC World Cup in cricket with his family and cheering on the Detroit Lions. He was very passionate about cricket and made multiple worldwide trips to cheer India on over the years.
Passionate about financial markets, he found joy in tuning into CNBC. Raj also had a particular fondness for the best sandwiches in Toledo and cherished family outings to Mancino's Grinders and other local establishments. Cooking for and feeding his sons brought him immense joy, and he was known for his delicious creations. He was such a talented chef that, he nailed his first attempt to make a dish as difficult as chicken biryani.
In their younger years, he carried his sons on his shoulders, introducing them to the wonders of the world. A trip to India included a memorable kabob tasting in Mysore, showcasing his love for exploration.
He was known for his romantic streak. For his honeymoon with his wife, Sapna, he orchestrated a surprise trip to Paris, by secretly arranging coverage for her demanding residency schedule and giving her a trip of her lifetime.
Raj Reddy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

A celebration of Raj's life will take place on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3655 King Rd, Toledo, OH 43617.
