Prentis Darnell Walton was born January 15, 1959 to the union of Huey P and Corliss Walton, both proceeding him in death. As well as, his brothers, Lawrence, Darrell, and Ronald.
He attended Toledo Public Schools at Fulton elementary and graduating from Scott high school in June 1977. He also became a newspaper deliverer while in school, a job he loved. In October 1977, he enlisted into the Marine Corps. He was stationed in California at Camp Pendleton. That is where he acquired his love of fire arms. He professed a belief in Christ while living in California. Prentis returned to Ohio in 1992 where he was employed at the Inverness golf course. He worked there until he was employed by old castle glass Prentis worked at Oldcastle Glass for 27 years until he retired in 2020. Also, in 1992 he met Barbara Jones. Prentis and Barbara married in 1999, and to that union Chaka Walton was born on January 2, 2010. He loved working on and fixing things around the house. He was well known in the neighborhood, as he met a lot of neighbors while walking Chaka. Prentis loved to meet people and was a loyal, and trusted friend to many. Prentis was an avid sports fan. His favorite team had long been the Chargers.
Prentis being an avid reader, loved to learn and have spirited debates about many topics. Politics being the main one.
Prentis leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barbara Walton, sister Debra (Jasper) Ford; four sons, Prentis Boone, Jamil Walton, Dominic Walton, and Sean Walton; one step son Mario Lee, one granddaughter, Leila Walton, Cousins: Janet McMickens, Wayne, Wallace, Willis, and Tony Peoples and his honorary parents, Robert and Heidi Birner and a host of great friends and relatives.
The family will receive guests Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900).
