Paul J. Kowalski

May 19, 1940 — July 16, 2025

Maumee, Ohio

Paul Kowalski, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, and cherished friend, Paul leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and joyful devotion to his family and community.

Paul shared 63 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Sharon Kowalski. Their romance began as high school sweethearts. Paul attended Macomber Highschool, where Paul enjoyed school dances and time with friends. From the very beginning, Sharon was the center of his world, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family.

Paul began his working life at the A&P food store and went on to have a long and respected career as a foreman at Chrysler in Perrysburg. After retiring from Chrysler, Paul continued working side-by-side with Sharon at DiSalle Real Estate Company until fully retiring due to health reasons.

Paul’s favorite holiday was Christmas. Known lovingly to his family as “Father Christmas,” he brought the spirit of the season to life with joy and enthusiasm. He and Sharon spent many wonderful years preparing for the holiday and celebrating with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating magical memories and lasting traditions that will never be forgotten.

He was a true friend to all-always willing to lend a hand, offer a smile, or quietly support someone in need. Paul enjoyed bowling, creating beautiful stain glass pieces, putting puzzles together and playing cards with countless family and friends. Paul loved traveling with Sharon, cheering from the sidelines at his grandchildren’s sporting events. He never missed their music programs, honors assemblies or time spent on the golf course with his best friend Tony, son and his grandsons. He showed his boys how to play ping-pong, build rockets, race slot cars and build his Lionel train set. He was deeply committed to making memories and filling his life with the people and moments that mattered most.

Above all, Paul treasured his family. He was a loving husband to Sharon, and a devoted father to his two sons: John (Debbie) and Gary (Judi). He was a proud grandfather to Ben (Kristy), Adam (Taryn Korshek), Jacob fiancée (Madeline Sleeper), Kayla fiancée (Sam Harmon) and Chad (Emily). Brothers Tom (Marian) and Bob Kowalski. Those that he will meet once again that have preceded him death his parents Stanley and Frances (Radlinski), in laws Irving and Phoebe Zygela, brother Daniel, sister Jean Sopko, and sister in-law Audrey Kowalski.

The family will receive guests on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2255 Central Grove.
