Listen to Obituary

Paul T. Grimm passed away peacefully at his home on February 24, 2026, at the age of 92. Paul was born on December 26, 1933, in Lancaster, Ohio, to Harry Grimm and Martha (Schaefer) Grimm Poivre. He lived a life rich with experiences, laughter, and a deep devotion to family and community.

Education was very important to Paul. He proudly attended St. Michael’s Catholic School in Henrietta, Oklahoma. After graduation, he served his country honorably in the United States Navy from July 1953 to July 1957 during the Korean War aboard the USS Jupiter. Following his discharge, Paul continued his education at Xavier University in Cincinnati, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and later studied at the University of Toledo. His education laid the foundation for a successful career in accounting which grew many long standing relationships with clients who became like family.

On December 20, 1975, Paul married his beloved wife, Jeri Grimm, and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Known to many relatives as Tom or Tommy, Paul cherished time spent with family and friends throughout the years.

Paul was a devoted member of the American Legion Adams Township Post 553, where he was recognized as the longest-serving Sergeant of Arms and one of its longest-active members. He loved connecting with others and was known for his warm smile, great sense of humor, and genuine interest in the lives of those around him. He enjoyed listening to old country music, golfing, fishing (always with a new fishing story to tell), and traveling — especially long car trips. He was also an avid supporter of Ohio State and the Toledo Rockets, enthusiastically cheering on his teams.

Paul is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jeri; his children, Tina (Jeff) Zalla, Tim (Angie) Grimm, and Liz Grimm; and several grandchildren, including Christina, Owen, and Grace, along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Suzette Dial; his sister-in-law, Mary Grimm; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Terry Grimm; his sister, Mariam; his brother, John; his stepfather, George Poivre; his mother-in-law, Verna Dean Lewis; and his brother-in-law, Donald Dean.
