Patsy Nadine Clevenz

Patsy Nadine Clevenz age 91 of Toledo, Ohio went home to Heaven on September 14,2026

She was born on April 25, 1935 in her Trilby home to Edwin and Helen (Scott) McCormick. In her early teenage years, Patsy became ill with Rheumatic Fever and experienced a side effect that would remain a constant for the rest of her life - Epilepsy.

Patsy was a graduate of Whitmer High School, and started working early in her life as a babysitter and “soda jerk” at the neighborhood drugstore.

She married the love of her life, Theodore M. Clevenz on September 10, 1955 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, and was a life long resident of Toledo. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years and her sister, Judith A. Paxton. Patsy is survived by her daughters Cheryl Westbrook(Bob), who was born on her birthday, Catherine Guy(Rodney), and Connie Nobile(Jim), as well as her 4 beloved grand-children, Nathan and Joshua Clevenz and Anne-Marie and Samuel Nobile.

Patsy held a variety of office positions in Toledo, her favorite being a receptionist at the former Waldorf Hotel. Her most rewarding and challenging position was that of Domestic Engineer, taking care of her home and husband and chasing after her three daughters.

Patsy was a long time member of Glendale Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Womens’ Ministry and was a choir member and featured soloist. She came to know her Lord and Savior at a non-denominational Bible Study and she loved to share her faith and God’s love with anyone willing to listen. She held positions in the Toledo Chapters of National Day of Prayer and Women’s Aglow Christian Fellowship as well as providing a weekly devotional radio spot on WPOS FM. In her later years, she attended Cornerstone Christian Church and sang with the Thurlow Spurr Ohio-Michigan Concert Choir and traveled with them to Israel to participate in the David 3000 Celebration.

Patsy’s true calling was praying for people. Everywhere she went, she found people in need of prayer

and willing to trust her with delicate pieces of their lives. Although she will be greatly missed, we rejoice knowing she is safely in the presence of the Savior she loved who truly loves her best, and that she is finally, totally healed.

Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 4:00-7:00PM.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 10:00 AM.  

The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the amazing hands-on workers at Kingston-Sylvania, and a special thank you to Ms. Lynn Rafferty for her optimistic care, love and support for Patsy while she was still at home. “It is what it is”
