Born Norine Mary Hettle on April 6th, 1941 to Walter C. and Mary E. Hettle, she was the youngest of five siblings. Being the youngest of five instilled her with determination that lasted a lifetime.
Norine lived a long and vibrant life in Toledo, Ohio. She attended St Mary's Elementary School in Toledo, Ohio then went onto Central Catholic High School, Toledo, Ohio. After graduation she worked for the phone company. Norine was married and had three children. Once the children were in middle school Norine went onto college where she earned a Bachelor of Nursing from Owens Community College in 1978. Norine worked as an RN for over 20 years at Medical College of Ohio in surgical ICU and The Department of Otolaryngology Clinic.
At the age of 55 she fulcrummed onto a totally different type of nursing.......Occupational Health. Norine spent more than 15 years at Chrysler's Toledo Machining Plant and Toledo Jeep Assembly Plant. She used her authoritativeness, sassiness and work ethic to service such a demanding environment. The stories she was never able to tell since HIPPA.
Norine loved to travel. Her passport was stamped France, Germany, and Italy. She went on a sail boat from Florida to the Bahamas with a group of friends and has been all over the USA!. She was a talented seamstress and a lover of Van Gogh, ladybugs, and the daffodil flowers that came up every year in her yard. She used to swim 3 times a week faithfully through Silver Sneakers for better mobility.
She can best be characterized by her Catholic Faith, silent acts of service, and keeping holiday family traditions alive.
