Nathan Wallace Grant, 45, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2025.
Born on July 24, 1980, in Toledo, Ohio, Nathan was the son of Marvin S. and Eileen Grant. On April 12, 2003, Nathan married the love of his life, Jill (Rymers) Grant. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to his family, while raising three beautiful daughters: Brooklyn (Grant) Herrera, Madelyn Grant, and Shaelyn Grant.
Nathan was so proud to be a Papaw to his four grandchildren, Beckem, Callen, Lennon, and Maevyn, who brought him immeasurable joy. He delighted in teaching them lessons his own Papaw had passed down, like fishing and appreciating wildlife, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Family was at the center of everything Nathan did. He filled his days finding ways to make life a little easier and a lot brighter for his girls, whether cleaning cars in the winter, making sure their wipers worked, or sending thoughtful texts about the weather and road conditions.
Nathan loved the outdoors, the mountains, and all things history. On family vacations, Jill made sure to stop at historical sites. because nothing made Nathan happier, and he would talk about those visits for years. He also enjoyed cooking with his wife, trying new restaurants, and was always ready for an adventure.
Nathan worked at Fiske Brothers Refinery for 18 years as a forklift operator, a role he took great pride in. He was also a member of the Maumee Valley Whiskey Society, where he found community and friendship.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jill; their daughters Brooklyn (27), Madelyn (21), and Shaelyn (18); his grandchildren Beckem (8), Callen (5), Lennon (3), and Maevyn (2); his parents, Marvin S. and Eileen Grant; his brother Brian and sister-in-law Katie; and his nephews Collin and Conner.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Rufus and Delores Wallace, and Marvin B. and Katherine Grant.
Nathan will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud Papaw, loyal brother and son, and a friend to many. His legacy will live on in the laughter and love of his family, and in the countless stories and memories he leaves behind.
