Nancy June Laduke

Nancy June LaDuke, age 80, a lifelong Toledo resident, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 2, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to Worth W. and Mary (Bissonette) Hanna. Nancy was one of nine children falling in the middle of 2 brothers and 6 sisters. She and her sisters were often referred to as "the Hanna girls".

Nancy graduated from Whitmer High School, class of 61. She then went on to start a family. Nancy retired from Reiter Automotive and then became a caregiver with Visiting Angels, where she enjoyed helping others.

Nancy liked to bake and her family often called her the "Queen of Carrot Cake", as this was one of her favorite desserts to make. She also cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Because family was important to Nancy and she always wanted the best for them, she was not shy about offering advice.

Nancy is survived by her children, Kim LaDuke and Michael (Amy) LaDuke, both of Toledo; grandchildren, Tomi Dee (James) Shelter, Derek (Caitlin) Murdoc and Alexis (Josh) Bryer. Also left to cherish her memory are her great grandchildren, Phoenix, Leighton, Charlotte and Lydia.

The family will receive guests Friday, December 29, 2023 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd, (419-473-0300), where a Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 pm.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Claudia and Bre, nurses with St. Charles Mercy Hospital and Trixie, a nurse and caregiver with Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the loving care and kindness they showed to Nancy and her family.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a memorial contribution to Wounded Warriors or the Toledo Lucas County Humane Society in Nancy's memory.
