Mr. James A. Henry

Mr. James A. Henry was born January 15, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio. He passed this life on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in The University of Toledo Medical Center. He was preceded in death by both parents, Mr. Hazel Shockley and Mrs. Catherine Martin; sister, Rachel Henry; granddaughter, Ty Moses and nephews, Jamal and Jelini Shockley.

James was a devoted son, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend. He will be remembered for his honesty, work ethic and locality. James had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. He loved music, fishing and cooking for his family and friends. He was the handyman that everyone counted on. You always find James at home watching sports and drinking a cold beer.

He is survived by his son, Paul L. Moses; his sisters, Jessica Brooks (Texas), Erie Mosley, Francine (David) Birden, Everzina Henry, Florentine (Ronald) Shockley-Todd, Sherry Gregory, Tazie Brown, brothers, Hazel (Lois) Shockely, Jr., Vonell (Tracey) Henry. Honorary brother, Roderick Chapman. Ten grandkids, two great grandkids. A host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Special friends, Linda Moses, John Jackson, Larry Moore, family and friends.

The family will receive guests Friday, July 3, 2026 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
