Miriam Lee Fossett, affectionately known as Mimi, passed away on December 3, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and joy that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. Born on May 5, 1949, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Miriam grew to embody the beauty of life, always embracing each moment with a spirited enthusiasm that inspired those around her.

A dedicated nurse at Valley Baptist Hospital, Miriam devoted her life to caring for others, exemplifying kindness not just in her profession but in her everyday interactions. She graduated from Washtenaw Community College, equipping herself with the knowledge and skills that allowed her to touch so many lives through her healing hands and warm heart.

Miriam's life was enriched by her love for travel; she cherished her memorable trip on an Alaska Cruise for her 75th birthday, where the stunning landscapes mirrored the beauty within her. She was a true animal lover, with a special bond to her Siberian Husky, Max, who brought her endless joy alongside her cherished cats, Lulu and Sadie, whom she loved dearly.

As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Miriam held family at the very center of her life. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Mary Valentine, and her cherished grandchildren, Felicity, Michael, and Isabelle, along with her adored great-grandchildren, Auryn and Willow. They were the lights of her life, and she took immense pride in being a part of their journeys. Miriam also spoke fondly of her honorary son, Mike Valentine, who held a special place in her heart.

Miriam was known for her wicked sense of humor, which could brighten the most somber of days. Her natural beauty was matched by her intelligence and her unwavering willingness to be there when anyone needed her. Always the doctor appointment buddy, she felt akin to a superhero, ready to step in and lift others up at a moment's notice.

Even in her absence, the value of her friendships and the joy she shared with everyone will continue to resonate throughout the lives she touched. Her ex-spouse, Joseph H. Duffy, and her son, Michael H. Duffy, have preceded her in death, but her impact on family bonds and the love she fostered will be remembered dearly by those she leaves behind.

Miriam Lee Fossett's spirit will live on, reminding us all to love life just as she did, to cherish our families, and to embrace every opportunity with warmth and laughter. In her beautiful, caring life, she taught us all what it truly means to be there for one another, and for that, she will be forever celebrated and missed.
