Our beloved Mother Minnie Long transitioned from earth to glory on October 21st, 2025, surrounded by love and peace. Minnie was born on September 13th, 1930, to Elijah and Auibell Harderson in Buena Vista, Georgia.
She dedicated more than 30 years of faithful service to the Toledo Hospital, beginning in the Dietary Department and later serving as a nurse’s aide in the Maternity Department.
Minnie was a woman of faith, wisdom, and compassion. Her life was a shining example of devotion and love. She cherished her family unconditionally, and her greatest joy was serving the lord.
Minnie was a committed and dedicated member of her church, Greater Glory, where she was one of the original members of the ministry, established over 60 years ago. She served faithfully as the Head Mother of the church and was regarded by many as a spiritual leader. She lived the word of God daily. One of her final words before she transitioned was “Praise His Holy Name.”
She leaves to cherish her memory and beloved children: Tina Bragg, Mark Long, and Keith (Amy) Long. Grandchildren: Omar Long, Lontina Bragg, Takela (Kwabena) Yeboah, Robert (Tenayuh) Bragg, Mark (Elizabeth) Long Jr., Keianna Walker, Ashely Walker, and Marcus Stevens.
She is also survived by her nephews: Perry (Betty) Harderson and Tony Oneal Smith. Nieces: Jacqueline Pasker, Annette Duhart, Cynthia (Wes) Bibbs, Debra (Kevin) Scott, Teresa (Tim) Coates, and Teresa Harderson. Also, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loving friends who will continue to honor her legacy.
Minnie was preceded in death by her eldest Daughter, Doris Long, sisters Vicie Gill and Annie Smith, brother Willie Harderson, and her youngest Niece, Kimberly Gill.
Mother Minnie Long’s life was a testament to faith, service, love, and a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Minnie’s hands were gentle, and her heart was pure. Her faith in God was strong. She prayed each night for those she loved and trusted guidance from above. Those hands that worked, those hands that cared, gave comfort, kindness, and love she shared. Now folded still, they rest in grace: a shining light in Heaven’s Place.
Scripture: Psalms 91:1
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty.
