Michele Rene Williams was born on June 14, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio, to Roosevelt and Letha Williams. She was the third blessing to the Williams family. On September 12, 2026, Michele was called home to be with the Lord, surrounded by the love of her family.
Michele found the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. As a young girl, she would often play church and school with her Englewood neighborhood family, showing an early love for faith, learning, and serving others. Michele was baptized at Greater St. Mary’s, where her family formerly attended.
Michele was a proud graduate of St. Ursula Academy, Class of 1976. After high school, she began her career at St. Vincent before pursuing higher education. Michele was the first member of her family to attend college, a milestone that reflected her determination and commitment to creating a better future. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo and later obtained a Master’s degree in Education.
Michele’s passion was teaching. She dedicated many years to Toledo Public Schools as a substitute teacher, where she touched the lives of countless students through her love of education and her commitment to her community.
Her love for her community extended far beyond the classroom. Michele was instrumental in helping to start the Lincoln School Coalition, reflecting her dedication to education, children, families, and the betterment of her neighborhood. She was also a proud 20-year member of the International Order of the Eastern Star, where she continued her commitment to fellowship and service.
Michele will be remembered for her love of family, her faith in God, her passion for education, and her dedication to her community. She leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, service, and love that will continue through the many lives she touched.
Michele Rene Williams was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Roosevelt and Letha Williams, and her brother, Mark A. Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Leon J. Williams (Charlene), Victoria J. Williams, Brandon A. Thomson, Brittany A. Thomson, and Jeremy Sanders; her sisters, Barbra Williams and Sharon Williams; her nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; two nephews; seven nieces; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Though Michele has been called home, her love, laughter, faith, and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Rest peacefully, Michele. Your work here is done. May you rest in the loving arms of the Lord.
