Michael "Mike" A. King

Michael A. King, age 71, of Holland, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 23, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to Junior and Lucille (Abramczyk) King.

After working for many years in factories, including Craft Master and Bostwick-Braun, Mike discovered his true passion in carpentry. He went on to spend many years working in construction and home remodeling, where he took great pride in working with his hands and creating things meant to last.

Mike was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He never missed a NASCAR race, always had a cigarette nearby, and loved trying his luck with lottery and scratch-off tickets—often joking that “today might be the day.” His home was rarely quiet, and he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. It was always filled with laughter, conversation, and the constant presence of grandchildren running through the rooms. Being surrounded by family, especially his grandchildren, brought him his greatest happiness.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his son, Kirk Kobylinski, and his brother, Larry King.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Wanda King; his children, Jennifer King, Michael (Torry) King, James King, and Jessica (Mitch) King; his grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor (DJ), Brenden (Liz), Blake, Sophie, Kenzie, Avery, Logan, Juliana, Jayden, and Jace; and his great-grandchildren, Princeton, Giovani, Roman, and Lilliana. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon (Jessie) Slusher, and his brother, Wayne King.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Springfield Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice in Mike’s memory.
