Michael B. Kelly, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished member of the Toledo and Perrysburg communities, passed away on May 15, 2026, in Perrysburg, Ohio. Born on November 20, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, Mike's life was a testament to resilience, love, and faith.

Mike's journey began as a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1960, followed by the achievement of his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Toledo. His education laid the foundation for a life rich in wisdom and curiosity. An avid reader and storyteller, he delighted in sharing tales of his Irish heritage, infusing family gatherings with a sense of history and pride. Music and dance were sources of joy for him, reflecting a lively spirit that touched all those fortunate enough to know him.

Throughout his life, Mike faced battles that many could only imagine. Those closest to him understood the crosses he bore. His kindness and caring nature, however, never faltered. He was a man deeply rooted in his faith, a proud Catholic who found solace and community at St. Rose Catholic Church and St. John's Catholic Church, where he faithfully attended Mass. His love for walking mirrored his contemplative soul.

The pride and joy of Mike's life were undeniably his children. He often spoke with warmth and admiration about his daughters Melissa Kelly Jacobs, Sarah J. Smith and her husband Marty, and Lynn Brewer and her husband Matthew. His heart expanded further with the presence of grandchildren Joe Jacobs, Elly Jacobs, Scott Jacobs, Jacob Smith and his wife Julia, Lilly Smith, Sarah E. Graham and her husband Hunter, Tess Brewer, Timothy Brewer, and Tricia Brewer, along with great-grandchildren—Azlyn, Elodi, Iris, Lincoln, Everly, and Hudson—were among his greatest treasures.

Special mention is owed to his longtime companion, Sylvia Fortney, whose steadfast presence offered comfort and companionship. Mike’s extended family and friends also mourn his passing, each holding cherished memories of a man who shared God's grace, favor, and blessings with every farewell.

Mike’s life was also marked by poignant loss. He is preceded in death by his son, Timothy J. Kelly; his first wife, Laura J. (Stimac) Kelly; his two brothers, Ed and Al Kelly; and his sisters Mary Flahie and Irene Kelly (Sr. Brigid, SND). Their memories live on in the hearts of those he loved so deeply.

His girls remember how he would end a conversation with the words, "God's grace, favor and blessings be upon you," a simple phrase that embodied the kindness and steadfast faith that defined him.

Michael B. Kelly’s legacy is one of love, perseverance, and deep familial devotion. He will be profoundly missed, forever remembered, and eternally celebrated by all who were blessed to know him. May he rest in peace.
