Mike spent his entire career as a controller, where his adeptness with numbers was evident. His professional life was a testament to his diligence and commitment, traits that resonated deeply throughout his personal life as well.
As a cherished father to his daughters, Amanda Grimm and Jessica Buckner, Mike instilled in them invaluable lessons and delightful memories. Jessica fondly remembers the times spent in the car, where her father would teach her music from the radio, creating joyful moments and lasting bonds. Amanda remembers a cherished vacation with their family in Colorado, driving through the Rocky Mountains listening to Yanni and appreciating not only the beauty of their surroundings but learning the deep appreciation that Michael had for the quiet, relaxing to the music that he so loved. Another cherished memory is that of his grandson, Aidan, who recalls the special time they shared while learning to drive together. These moments reflect the kind of patient and loving man he was, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a teaching moment with his loved ones.
Mike's selflessness was evident in the way he approached life. He was a kind and gentle soul who consistently offered a sensitive shoulder for family and friends to lean on. His nurturing nature extended particularly to his grandchildren, with whom he took great joy in spending time. He possessed the unique ability to dispel worries, embodied in the special "worry tree" that he created for his daughters during their formative years.
A lover of music, Mike would often be found listening to his favorite tunes, a pastime that brought him great joy. He enjoyed watching reality shows, playing and watching golf, and sharing his enthusiasm for baseball, he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. These hobbies brought him closer to friends and family, as he filled his life with laughter and warmth.
In addition to his immediate family, Michael is survived by grandchildren; Anderson and Aiden, his brother Rick (Bev), his sister Mimi (Bob), his sister Sue (Lisa), sister Nancy, brother Jerry, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Preceding him in death were his beloved parents, Richard and Ellen Buckner, his brother Jack Buckner, and his granddaughter, Madison Marie Buckner. Their absence is felt deeply as they join Mike in eternal rest.
Michael Buckner leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and undying support for those he cherished. His memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mike's wishes were for no services at this time, the family will have a gathering at a later date for his family.
