Melvin Charles Schamp, a dedicated father, grandfather, and lifelong Ohio resident, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at the age of 68. He was a man whose skilled hands and adventurous spirit left behind a legacy of hard work and a deep love for the open road.
Born in January 1957, Melvin spent his entire life in Ohio. For 42 years, he was a loyal and committed employee at Jeep, a career that defined much of his working life and provided for his family. He took great pride in his tenure and the contribution he made to the automotive industry in his home state.
Outside of the plant, Melvin's true passion lay in the roar of an engine and the wind in his face. He was an avid motorcyclist, finding solace and freedom on the open road. His motorcycles were more than just a hobby; they were an extension of his free-spirited and determined nature. He also loved a night of karaoke.
Melvin was preceded in death by his loving mother, Nancy Schamp, and his father, Melvin Schamp.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, who were his greatest source of pride and joy:Heather Happeny (Brian), Cassandra Schamp and Caitlen Bonds (Jason),sisters; Tina and Trish. He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren who will carry on his memory and adventurous spirit.
