Mary Chris Kehres, age 72 passed away on August 10th at her sister's home in Toledo, Ohio surrounded by her family. She had recently returned home from Colorado, where she had lived for many years. She moved back to Toledo due to her decline in health from Pancreatic Cancer. She was born on December 7, 1952 to the late Charles (Bud) and Elizabeth (Betty) (nee Seibert) Kehres.She attended Most Blessed Sacrament Grade School and Central Catholic High School in Toledo. She then attended Naropa University in Colorado where she earned a Master's Degree as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Prior to her move to Colorado she worked for Owen's Corning in Toledo and Valparaiso, Indiana for many years. She dedicated her life to helping others and worked at the Jefferson Center in Colorado for many years. She was recognized not only for her professional achievements but for the warmth and compassion she extended to everyone she encountered. In the early seventies she was a member of the Greater Toledo Karate Club, where she earned her black belt. She participated in many of the competitions and made some lifelong friends with whom she visited on every visit home.Outside of her professional life she enjoyed the mountains and walks. She also treasured the times she went to England and Scotland with two of her brothers. She enjoyed going to art and craft shows in the Denver and outlying areas.She treasured her memories of long conversations with her family and returning home to Toledo yearly for Christmas. She leaves behind her loving family: brothers, Steve, Mike (Kim), John (Genie), sisters Lori and Jenny Schramm. She was an aunt to Lesley, Eric (Karen), Allison, Mark (Jenna), Adam, Lynne (Josh), Kelly (Eric), Christopher and also great nephews Nicholas, Ernie and Victor. In addition to her parents she was preceded death by her brother Philip. She will be missed by all of her family and friends here and in Colorado. The family would like to thank Elara Hospice Care for their compassion and care they gave to her and the family during that difficult time. There will be a celebration of life on October 18th at Blessed Sacrament Kelly Room from. 2:30-6:30. 4255 Bellevue Rd. Toledo, Ohio 43613.
