Mary Jo Pelzer

After a long valiant battle with dementia, Mary Jo passed away peacefully July 9, 2026, at Ebeid Hospice Northwest Ohio. She was born on January 9, 1948, in Toledo to Bernard and Freda Kromenacker. 

After graduating from Notre Dame Academy, Mary Jo went on to pursue work in the medical field. She worked for many years at UTMC as a medical clerk. Mary Jo was kind, thoughtful, and patient with everyone. She was the fun, favorite aunt. She was a second mom to all her nieces and nephews. Always there for all big and small events. Mary Jo was a lover of bargain shopping and finding the perfect little gift to brighten someone's day. She also enjoyed listening to all music. Spending time with family, music and bargain shopping were her favorite pastimes. She loved generously, gave bountifully, and lived fully. 

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Freda Kromenacker, brother in laws John Dutcher and Larry Petersen. She leaves behind her sisters Karen Petersen and Ann Dutcher, nephews Marty (Sue) Petersen, Mick (Cindy) Petersen and Marc Petersen. Nieces Amy Dutcher, Julie (Tony) Ostrowski, and JoEllen (Marcelo) Dutcher. Also, many great nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Burial will be private.
