Marvin M. Morley

Marvin Myers Morley, age 100, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at home with his loving family by his side. Born on March 20, 1926, in Alvordton, Ohio, to Edgar and Letha (Myers) Morley, Marvin lived a remarkable century, witnessing incredible changes in the world while building a life marked by deep love, resilience, and quiet grace.

He was raised on his family farm in Edgerton, Ohio, and later attended Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana. Marvin devoted more than 40 years of his working life to the Ohio Inspection Bureau (ISO) before retiring.

He married the love of his life, Anna Belle Straw, on June 25, 1950, in Orland, Indiana. Together, they shared more than 69 years of marriage and a lifetime of memories. After their marriage, Marvin and Anna Belle moved to Toledo, Ohio, where they began building their life together before starting their family.

Marvin and Anna Belle found immense joy in traveling and appreciating the outdoors, especially wildlife, bird watching, and searching for pudding stones. Marvin loved to fish and was a pretty sharp card player! He also made what his family will always remember as the best homemade ice cream in the state.

He and Anna Belle were members of Asbury United Methodist Church for more than 40 years before joining Saint Andrews United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kerry (Nancy) Morley and Shannon Maddox; his four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie, Kristopher, and Nicole; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Belle, and his sister, Janice Manon.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 3:00–8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, OH 43613(tel:419-381-1900)).

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 21, 2026, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM and the service at 12:00 PM.

Graveside services at Greenlawn Cemetery in Orland, Indiana, will be held at a later date with family in attendance.
