Mark Avery Templin

April 19, 1958 — May 8, 2025

Toledo, Ohio

Mark Avery Templin, born on April 19, 1958, in Dearborn, Michigan, passed away on May 8, 2025 in Toledo, Ohio. He will be remembered as a devoted family man, a skilled professional, and a cherished friend to many.

Mark dedicated 25 years of his life to DTE, where he served as a pipeline technician until health concerns began to affect his work. An alumnus of Allen Park High School, he pursued studies that laid the foundation for a successful career, but his true legacy lies in the love and care he offered his family.

Mark was a constant source of joy and laughter. He was well-known for his wonderful sense of humor and his infectious smile, always ready with a quick wit to lighten any mood. He embraced life fully, finding joy in small pleasures, whether it was crafting his legendary pancakes, indulging in homemade biscuits and gravy, or preparing perfect popcorn for movie nights. His passion for music and watching musicals, along with his love for fishing, painted the picture of a man who relished every moment.

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Mark cherished the time spent with his children — often choosing their company over that of adults. His steadfast determination to never tell his children "NO" was a hallmark of his loving and generous spirit. He took immense pride in his family, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue with his wife, Carla Templin, son Jason Templin and his wife Heather, and daughter Andrea Saylor alongside her significant other Scott Warner, and daughter Amber Herold with her husband Ryan. Mark is also survived by three brothers, Gary (Kathy) Templin, Brian (Tricia) Templin, and David (Denise) Templin, along with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His warmth and kindness will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mark was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Patricia Templin, his brother, Lawrence Templin, and his son, Justin Templin. Their memories will remain close to the hearts of his family.

A memorial service to celebrate Mark’s life will be held on June 6, 2025, at 4:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northwest Toledo, Ohio. Friends and family are invited to join together to honor a man who truly lived life to the fullest.
