Marjorie A. Conger

Marjorie A. Conger, age 92, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. Born in Monclova, Ohio on July 14, 1933, to Ellis and Gladys (Bortel) Butz. Marjorie's life was marked by her dedication to her profession and her family. 

As a registered nurse for over 40 years, Marjorie served at Maumee Valley Hospital, which later became the Medical College of Ohio and the University of Toledo Medical Center. Her commitment to caring for others was evident in her professional life and extended to her community service as she volunteered at the VA for over 20 years.Marjorie cherished her time with her family, enjoying many travels with her husband, Lee, visiting nearly every state in the U.S. Aside from her dedication to her work and family, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Surviving is her husband, Lee and daughter, Lora (Timothy) Friend; granddaughters, Devon (Kregg) York, Grace Friend and brother, Donald Butz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Butz and sister, Suzanne Krueger. 

A funeral service to honor Marjorie's life will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Old Newsboys or to the charity of the donor's choice.
