It is with tremendous love, so many wonderful memories, and the deepest sadness we share the passing of our beloved Mom, Marilyn Picknell age 92, on August 31, 2026, in Tecumseh, Michigan. She is now reunited with her beloved husband George Alan Picknell. Marilyn was preceded in death by her sons Mark Picknell and infant son Michael Picknell, grandson Brian Picknell JR. l , daughter in law Traci Picknell and brother Ronald Hill and granddaughter Natalie Ebner.

Marilyn was born on December 11, 1933, to Toby and Luella Hill, in Toledo, Ohio. She grew up in West Toledo, and attended DeVeaux Elementary School, where she was always actively involved in school activities, social clubs, spending time with friends, and summer trips with her family, across the U.S. to various destinations and to Devils Lake (MI). During Marilyn’s teen years, while attending DeVilbiss High School, Marilyn participated in school clubs and social events. To Marilyn’s good friends, she was given the nickname “Gus.” She was an amazing artist, as evidenced by her drawings and cake decorations and a very active and proficient home gardener.

Marilyn loved her role as Mom. She was loving, devoted and focused on raising her kids with the loving devotion that was evident every day. Marilyn and George made the commitment to staying and raising their family in Toledo. In addition to raising her children and grandchildren. Some of the most treasured family memories are the annual multi-day trips to Cedar Point filled with laughter and family traditions.

Throughout her life, Marilyn left her loving and caring mark on everyone. While she was sometimes quiet and shy, her care and concern for others could always be seen in the love and compassion she showed her family and friends throughout her life. Marilyn loved her family deeply, and her family’s love for her is just as deep. We have been so blessed to have Marilyn in our lives as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt… it seems impossible to think of our family without her. We cannot imagine what our lives or our world will be like without her.

Marilyn passed away at Cambrian Assisted Living, surrounded by the love of her family and the affection of the Cambrian staff. She is survived by her brother James (Judy) Hill, children Beth (Pete) Berger, Brian (Julie) Picknell and Chris Picknell, as well as 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will hold a private celebration of life ceremony in Marilyn’s honor at a date yet to be determined. The family requests that any donations being made on Marilyn's behalf to Cambrian Assisted Living Facility, 333 N. Occidental Rd in Tecumseh, Michigan.
