Marilyn spent her childhood on the family farm in Ida, Michigan where she was raised. She graduated from Ida High School in 1959 at the age of 17. She was a member of Toledo Calvary Church in Maumee, Ohio but recently in the last number of years was only able to attend online services but she watched faithfully every week. She loved the Lord with all her heart and she demonstrated that in her kindness and genuine love that she had for her family and many others that crossed her path.

After her children were grown, Marilyn went back to work for several years as a personal assistant at Elizabeth Scott Assisted Living Community. In her free time, one of her favorite things she loved to do was playing the piano. The family has fond memories of her playing piano at various church services throughout the years as well as holiday family gatherings.
