Marilyn Jean Smith

Marilyn Jean Smith, age 80, of Toledo, OH passed away June 26, 2026 at her home. She was born September 4, 1945 in Toledo to Arnold and Helen (Oestreich) Lange. Marilyn was a graduate of Waite High School and Mary Manse College. A Registered Nurse for over 50 years, Marilyn was a Nursing Instructor, Head Nurse and Nursing Director for the University of Toledo Medical Center, RN Support Services, Aspen Grove Assisted Living and Maumee Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Merle G. Smith whom she married September 17, 1966. She is survived by her sons, Brian (Judith) Smith and Kelvin (Theresa) Smith; brother, Chris (Colleen) Lange; grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Bridget Sniadecki, Delaney Smith, Benjamin Smith, Jessica Ziethlow and Ronnie Ziethlow; great-grandchildren, Joseph Sarabia, Nala Sarabia, Elijah Sniadecki, Aubrey Sniadecki and Chase Ziethlow; and "adopted daughter," Ann Bondy.

The family will receive guests, Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
