Marilyn S. Engel

Marilyn Engel, originally from Middleburg Heights, OH near Cleveland and later Toledo, OH, was a revered and loved high school science teacher for Toledo Public Schools (mostly Rogers High School and also Scott) and other districts for over 40 years. She was a devoted mother and passionate grandmother. She had quick wit and a sharp sense of humor. She could also fix almost anything after a trip to the library. She had a huge heart for the broken hearted and those less fortunate and absolutely loved animals. With one sweet word and an outstretched hand she could talk any wild animal into coming close for food and petting. First and foremost, however, she was a born-again believer who asked Jesus to forgive her sins and be her personal Lord and Savior in her early adulthood. She was a prayer warrior and loved to study God's Word. Her favorite programs were Turning Point and Dr. David Jeremiah, and she would point anyone questioning their eternal security to the Gospel and Good News of Jesus Christ. Her family is thrilled that she is right now dancing and singing to Jesus with the angels!

She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew & Susan Sedlack, and her older brothers George, Richard, and Robert Sedlack. She is survived by her son Todd Engel; her daughter and son-in-law Erin & Eric Kunkel; her 3 grand-daughters Renee, Sarah, and Kaitlin Kunkel; her ex-husband Brian Engel, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lars & Emily Engel, her niece Janet Wallace, nephew Mark Sedlock, nephew Steve Sedlock, nieces Jann Engel and Karen Henderson; several great-nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Newcomer Toledo on Heatherdowns/Cass Rd this coming Sunday afternoon/evening 3/3/24 with a funeral followed by cremation. All are welcome to join us. We will also have a gathering in the greater Dayton area later on in the coming weeks.

The family will receive guests Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Sharing of Memories at 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, OH 43614.
