Margaret Jean Dutridge

Margaret Jean Dutridge, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on June 2, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, Margaret was a beacon of love and generosity to all who knew her.

Margaret dedicated much of her career to the service industry, becoming a manager at McDonald's before retiring after many years of loyalty. Her compassion also extended to her work with CSB as a babysitter and as a caregiver for Waterford Commons in the hospice unit, where she devoted 17 years to enriching the lives of those in her care. Her commitment to the well-being of others reflected her nurturing spirit.

Margaret was an individual who embraced life’s simple joys. She is fondly remembered for her enthusiastic pool parties and cookouts, where she welcomed everyone she knew. Summers found her at the beaches of Lake Erie, creating cherished memories with her family. While living in East Toledo, she engaged in joyful kickball games with neighborhood children, often cooling them off with a garden hose on especially hot days. She was known for her meticulous attention to detail when it came to holiday decorations, ensuring every celebration was special.

A proud and devoted family-oriented woman, Margaret was not only a caring figure to her immediate family but also an invaluable listener and support for friends in times of need. Her love for her husband, Eugene A. Dutridge, who predeceased her, was profound, characterized by shared adventures and spontaneous ice cream outings that delighted them both. Margaret was also proud of her accomplishments as a mother and grandmother, finding immense satisfaction in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her loving son, William, and his wife Christine; daughter Teri and her husband Phillip; daughter Grace and her husband John; son Russell and his wife Brenda; and son Don and his wife Leighann. She was a cherished grandmother to Duane, Matthew, Bryan, Tiffany, Amanda, John Jr., Stephanie, Marie, Sarah, Phillip, Miranda, and Ashli, and a doting great-grandmother to 22 great-grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her sister, Shirley (Butch), along with a host of extended family and close friends who will carry her spirit forward.

Margaret is predeceased by her husband, Eugene A. Dutridge; her father, Henry M. Seymour; her mother, Vivian J. Seymour; and her siblings: William, Thomas, Elma, Helen, Melvin, Sharon, and Patricia.

Visitation will be held on May 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623.
