Marcia Ann Baumgartner

Our precious mother, Marcia "Nana" Baumgartner, age 85, of Toledo, passed away June 9, 2025 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. She was born November 6, 1939 in Toledo to Walter and Mary (Long) Nehring. 

In addition to her parents, Marcia was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Baumgartner and brother, Richard Nehring. She is survived by her daughter, Joye (Gerald) Keller, Becky (Matt) Johnson and Leslie (Tommy) Goss; grandchildren, Chase Keller, Cambell Keller, Caitlinn Schafer, Josilyn Schafer and Jordan Schafer; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Nehring.

Marcia dedicated the first 20+ years of her marriage to Bob raising their three lovely daughters. She ensured they received a private Catholic education and cherished their annual two-week summer trips to Myrtle Beach. Marcia's exceptional parenting inspired Becky to adopt and raise three children with the same passion and values.

Marcia found immense joy in her interactions with others, her cheerful disposition and nurturing spirit touching the lives of many. She was a regular attendee at Cedar Creek Church and a devoted fan of University of Michigan football, a passion she shared with her brother. To say Nana cherished spending time with her grandchildren is an understatement. She had a front-row seat for Jordan's band concerts and was the first to the bleachers with pom-poms to watch Josi and Caite cheer. Nana was well-known for her enthusiastic presence at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns School sporting events, where she passionately cheered on Chase and Cambell, who were the center of her world.

The family will receive guests Monday, June 16, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
