Obituary
Marc Richard Knecht, born on December 25, 1967, in Toledo, Ohio, left this world peacefully on August 16, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, whose life was a testament to the power of kindness and joy.
Marc was the beloved son of Nancy Merrill (Wayne) and George Knecht Sr. He is survived by his devoted parents and siblings: brother George Knecht Jr. (Peggy) and sisters Tammy Knecht Walsh, Kristy Headworth (Mark), Jaime Holmes and Valerie Ullom. Marc's legacy continues through his 11 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored and who will carry forward the lessons he imparted.
Marc had a love for the simple pleasures of life. He found happiness in the company of family and friends, and his heart was truly at home in nature. Marc was an avid camper and spent countless weekends at Sunny’s Campground with his big brother, George Jr. Their bond was unbreakable; there was never one without the other. Whether casting a line or sitting by the campfire, Marc's spirit was most alive in these moments.
Fishing was not just a hobby for Marc; it was a passion he joyously shared with his nieces and nephews. Marc was also a dedicated Miami Dolphins fan, a passion for football he shared with his brother, watching games and just hanging out always sitting across from each other out in the garage.
Marc's warmth and generosity were felt by all who knew him. He was a man of integrity and compassion, never speaking ill of others and always ready with a helping hand. His laughter and smile were infectious, lighting up every room and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
The family plans to honor Marc's life with a Celebration of Life, in accordance with his wishes. Details will be shared once arrangements are finalized, and all who knew and loved Marc are welcome to join in remembering and celebrating the beautiful life he lived.
