Manuel (Manny) Molina, Jr, age 69, of Maumee, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on May 17, 2025 under hospice care following a three month long struggle after suffering a stroke. He faced every setback with determination and strength as his health declined. His loving wife, Diane Molina, stood by his side throughout, serving as his devoted caregiver during his many recoveries.
Born on October 5, 1955 in Lubbock, Texas, Manny was the son of Severa (Bita) Tagle and Manuel Molina, Sr. At age five, his family relocated to Whitehouse, OH, where he grew up in their beloved log cabin home. He attended Whitehouse Elementary School, where he learned English with the help of his teachers and classmates ~ many of whom became lifelong friends.
Manny graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 1974 and was a proud member of the Anthony Wayne Marching Generals and Jazz Band, playing the saxaphone. He also enjoyed a competitive game of golf and tennis throughout his youth and adult life. Attending his 50th class reunion last Fall brought him great joy, as his school friends held a special place in his heart.
He worked for many years as a press operator at Metal Forming & Coining in Maumee ~ a job he loved and took great pride in, until health issues led to his retirement.
One of Manny’s greatest sources of pride was his son, Austin. He was incredibly proud when Austin graduated from the University of Toledo College of Engineering. Manny and Diane loved attending classic car shows when Austin was young ~ and now, as an adult, Austin carries on that tradition by showing his own classic cars at local venues. Manny beamed with pride watching his son grow into the man he is today. He was a truly proud Dad.
Manny’s wife, Diane, would like to express her deepest gratitude to the many teams of doctors, nurses, physical and speech therapists, hospice professionals and caregivers who helped prolong Manny’s life and supported him and their family throughout his journey. He fought with determination until his body could no longer continue.
In addition to his parents, Manny was preceded in death by his brother, Abel Molina; and sisters, Melva Kareklas and Sylvia M Webb. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane (Brown) Molina; his son, Austin Molina; and his brother, Ron Molina.
Manny had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. He and Diane adopted many rescue dogs over the years, offering them a loving home. In his memory, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Toledo Humane Society or Nature’s Nursery, two organizations close to his heart.
