Mahijibhai Dahyabhai Patel, 80, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, at 6:35 PM at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 1, 1946, in Vadivadi (Baroda), Gujarat, India, he was the son of the late Dahyabhai Patel and Kamlaben Patel.
Mahijibhai lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a generous spirit. He graduated from high school in India and spent his early career as a farmer and factory crew member there. After moving to the United States, he continued his diligent work ethic as a retail crew member, always providing for his family with pride and dignity.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Kapilaben Patel; his two sons, Hitesh Patel and Paresh Patel; his daughter-in-law, Bela (Paresh) Patel; and his cherished grandchildren, Aryan, Deven, and Dax. He is also survived by six brothers and was preceded in death by his sister.
Mahijibhai was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and peaceful, egoless nature. He never held a grudge against anyone and carried a deep sense of inner peace. He embraced every moment of life with confidence and gratitude. He strongly believed in family values — that a family that eats together, stays together, and prays together stays united — and he lived those values each day by bringing love, unity, and faith into his home. He also cherished time with friends and family, enjoyed walks, attended religious gatherings, and shared stories with those around him.
