With heavy hearts and joyful memories we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch Madaline Dickerson, who left this world peacefully at the age of 96 from natural causes. She was surrounded by love, laughter, and the legacy she so beautifully created.
Known for her spunky spirit, sharp wit, and no nonsense attitude, Madaline lived life on her own terms and always had a soft spot for sweets and popcorn, often sneaking a treat when she thought no one was looking.
Madaline never missed a family game night (though there were times we suspected she made up her own rules). No matter how competitive she was, her poker face didn't stand a chance - we always knew when she had the old maid thanks to those tell-tale giggles and playful expressions.
Madaline worked for many years as a school bus driver for Sylvania Public Schools, where she kept generations of children safe, with her steady hand and kind heart. After retiring she found joy working as a hostess at Rosie's where she became known for remembering co-workers and regular customers - often with thoughtful gifts and heartfelt holiday gestures.
Madaline enjoyed baking and was famous for her banana and German chocolate cakes. Family events were never complete without a playful debate over which dessert she would bake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eva Urban; her brother, Ronald Urban; her husbands, Donald Kulwicki and William Anderson; and great grandson, Chase Harris.
Madaline was the devoted mother of Don (Linda) Kulwicki, Sue (Harry) Conrad, Ron (Laura) Kulwicki, Jodie (Sandy Taylor) Harris. She was a proud grandmother to Aaron (Erin) Kulwicki, Amy (Wade Taylor) Kulwicki, Adam (Ashley Louis) Kulwicki, Melissa Freed, Hannah (Nathan) Hart, Ben (Ashley) Kulwicki, Josh Kulwicki, Michael Harris, Matthew Harris and Nicholas Harris. Her family grew to include 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She will also be deeply missed by her beloved dog, Bentley, who was always by her side.
Though we are heart broken to say goodbye, we celebrate a long, vibrant life well lived. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, humor and fierce love.
The family will receive guests Friday, July 18, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd. where the Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m..
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial tributes be made in her name to Hospice of Miami County Ohio, who's care and compassion helped make her final journey peaceful.
