Lynn H. Gowin, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 27, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio. Born on August 21, 1940, in Joplin, Missouri, Lynn lived a life full of love, loyalty, and laughter. His journey through 85 years touched the hearts of many, leaving behind memories that will endure for generations.

Lynn was a man of remarkable character—known for the warmth he extended to everyone he met, never forgetting a name, and always ensuring those around him felt cared for and valued. A true "man's man," he embraced his role as a provider with pride and grace, and his dedication to family was unmatched. His greatest accomplishments were not only his service to his country in the US Navy but also the loving family he nurtured throughout his life.

Those who gathered to witness Ohio State games at Lynn’s home will forever cherish the lively celebrations he hosted. Known for throwing the best game parties, he created a vibrant community where cheers rang loud and friendship blossomed. At the heart of these gatherings was “Bubba,” a stuffed gorilla dressed in Ohio State gear, a whimsical companion who faithfully joined him during tailgating and became a symbol of Lynn’s joyful spirit and camaraderie.

Lynn’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He shared 66 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, passing away peacefully by her side—a testament to their enduring partnership. His legacy lives on in his daughter, Wendy Acosta, and his cherished grandchildren Stephanie, Michelle (along with her husband Aaron), Brandon, and other loving family members who hold him deeply in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his mother, many relatives, and his faithful feline companions Woody and Scarlett, each of whom held a special place in his life.
