Lillian M. Forbes, a beloved member of the Toledo community, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, in Sylvania, Ohio. Born on January 31, 1944, in Toledo, Lillian illuminated the lives of those around her with her caring and generous spirit.

Lillian dedicated 34 years of her life to her role as a cook at Mel Berman Restaurant, where her relentless commitment and hardworking nature were evident in every meal she prepared. Her selflessness and dedication to her craft made a lasting impression on her colleagues and patrons alike, who fondly remember her as a nurturing presence who brought warmth and joy to the dining experience.

Outside her professional life, Lillian found solace and joy in her hobbies. She cherished gardening, nurturing flowers and plants with the same love and attention she gave to her friends and family. Cooking was not only her profession but also a passion, where she delighted in preparing meals for loved ones. She enjoyed taking trips to local casinos, where the thrill of chance brought a sparkle to her eyes, and going camping, where she relished the beauty of nature and cherished moments spent with family and friends.

Lillian's personality shone brightly through her kindness and supportiveness, making her a beloved figure among her family, extended relatives, and friends. She leaves behind a host of many nieces, nephews, and loved ones who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hermina Forbes, and her siblings: Wally, Chuck, Darryl, Eddie, George, Margaret, Ivadell, and Virginia. Each of them holds a cherished place in the tapestry of her life, and their memories will live on in the stories shared by those who loved her.

A visitation in Lillian’s honor will be held on February 25, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Both events will take place at the Newcomer Funeral Home, West Sylvania, located at 3655 King Rd, Toledo, OH 43617.
