Lewis Byrd Jr.

Lewis Byrd Jr., age 89, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on March 10, 2024, in the comfort of his home. He was born February 9, 1935, in Hickman, Kentucky, to the late Louis Sr. and Hestella (Holmes) Byrd.

Lewis proudly served in the United States Army. He worked at Goodyear for over 20 years, where he retired. Lewis enjoyed fishing, tending to his garden, playing online poker, and spending time with those he loved.

Those left to forever cherish his memory are his son, Ronald Byrd (Jamie Patton); grandson, Cameron Byrd; and special nieces, Esther Carter and Jacia Gibson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Carrie Lee, Teola, Mattie Lee, Flora Jean, Esther B., and Thomas Earl.

Friends and family may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio, 43623, on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Charles Waters officiating. Lewis will be laid to rest at a later date.
