Lavern W. Meyer

LaVern W. Meyer, Jr., age 81, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Mercy St. Anne's Hospital with loving family by his side. He was born on December 20, 1935 to LaVern Sr. and Vivian (Kerwin) Meyer in Toledo. Vern worked for Anderson's General Store for 15 years. He then owned and operated Tony's Farm Market for 27 years before retiring in January 2016. Vern enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and camping with the Futey's but Vern was also dedicated to his work.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 siblings. Vern is survived by his loving wife, Johnnie Meyer; children, Karen Rombach, Dawn (Rick) LaFountain and Tony (Candace) Meyer; step-children, Tonya (Gabby) Oaks and Danny (Meghan) Varnes; grandchildren, Austin (Heather) Fry, Rylee Meyer, Brooke Sobecki, Dalton, Dylan and Dean Varnes; great-grandchildren, Harper and Hunter; sisters, Sharon Futey and Susan Brown; mother of his children and friend, Sandra Meyer; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
