Laura B. Thrush

Laura B. "Betty" Granny" Thrush, age 89, of Toledo, formerly of Erie, MI, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Spring Meadows Nursing Home, where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 9, 1927 to Porter and Cora Moore in North Carolina. For many years she worked at Secor Grill and most recently she was a receptionist and operated the thrift store at the Zablocki Center. When she wasn't working she was an avid fisher woman in Luna Pier, loved bluegrass music and enjoyed singing. Granny was a member of the Union Street Missionary Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert (Margie) Bush, Barbara (Jim) Warring, Sharon (Don Sutton) Bush and Deborah (Donnie) Reick; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Joanie Bobbitt and Mildred Nichols.

The family will receive guests Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 2-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Road Toledo, Ohio 43623. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions in Granny's memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
