Kreig "Shrek" Sherette, born on December 13, 1985, in Toledo, Ohio, departed this life on October 6, 2025, in the very city he cherished. Kreig was a remarkable individual, known for his stubborn personality, warm heart, good sense of humor, and his accompanying loud presence that could light up any room.
Throughout his life, Kreig devoted himself to his work as a Construction Manager and also served as a stocker at Kroger, where he infused his jobs with his fantastic humor and spirited approach. He was a graduate of Whitmer High School, Class of 2004, and furthered his education at Bowling Green State University.
In the last six months of his life, Kreig cherished the moments he spent with his beloved wife, Autumn, and their extended family, including his nieces Ava, Jayne, and Olivia Smith, as well as Lilith and Andrew Naugle, and Wesley Belkofer. He proudly embraced his role as "Huncle Kreig," finding immense joy in being a doting uncle to them all. Their laughter and love gave him strength and fulfillment, and he always dedicated time to be engaged in their lives.
Kreig’s life was filled with beautiful memories. The moments spent on his honeymoon in Las Vegas with Autumn created a lifetime of joy that would shine brightly in their hearts. His kind spirit compelled him to lend a hand to everyone, whether it was helping friends with side projects at home or lending his expertise at the farm. He was always there, ready to offer assistance and share his knowledge.
Growing up, Kreig found immense happiness at his grandfather's house on Sundays, where he spent countless hours working on fixing his old pickup truck. These precious memories grounded him and showcased the loving upbringing that shaped the wonderful man he became.
Outside work and family, Kreig enjoyed relaxing at Trot' N Charlies, where he could be found at the end of the bar, watching football and playfully changing the channels, bringing laughter to those around him. His charismatic presence and engaging nature ensured that he was never just a face in the crowd but rather a beloved friend to many.
Kreig is survived by his cherished wife, Autumn Sherette; his father, Michael (Jodi) Sherette; his sister, Katelynn (Josh) Smith; and his loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jayne Sherette, whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved Kreig.
Kreig's life may have been brief, but his impact will resonate deeply within the hearts of all who knew him. As we gather to celebrate his life, we remember a loving husband, a proud uncle, and a friend who brought so much joy into the world. He will be sorely missed, but his spirit will forever live on through the memories he created and the love he shared.
