Kim Darlene Burks, born on March 6, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio, passed away on November 9, 2024 surrounded by her husband and two daughters, in Findlay, Ohio. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, her spirit brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.
Kim's life was filled with love, music, and a passion for the outdoors. She cherished her time spent gardening, proudly tending to her beloved house plants and creating a beautiful sanctuary around her home. Known for her green thumb, she found joy in nurturing life, and her feisty personality made her an incredibly fun person to be around. She loved music and dancing, often filling her home with melodies, creating a lively atmosphere that drew people in.
Throughout her life, vacations to the beach were a highlight for Kim, offering her a chance to unwind and revel in the beauty of nature. A social butterfly, she enjoyed meeting new people and forming connections, which enriched her life and the lives of those around her.
Kim was married for 23 wonderful years to her husband, Mike Burks. Together, they cultivated a loving home and family, and Kim's devotion to her husband and children was among her proudest accomplishments. She is survived by her husband Mike Burks, daughters, Michelle Willard and her husband Kirk, and Melanie Ball and her husband Mike; her grandchildren, Dakota Madlinski and Alexandrea Ball; and her loving mother, Agnes Grosswiler. Kim also leaves behind her sister, Tina Lewis and her husband Larry, her brother, Richard Fry and his wife Debbie, as well as her step-children, Matthew Burks, Nicole Burks, and Katie Burks.
She now joins her late father, Norman Fry, and her brother, Charles Roach, in eternal rest.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kim's life at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Sylvania in Toledo, Ohio. Visitation will be held on November 16, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. The service will honor the vibrant spirit of Kim Darlene Burks, who will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
