Kerry Lenard Dillard passed away peacefully at his home in Toledo, Ohio, on September 11, 2026, surrounded by family and the love of his life, his wife Tammy Dillard, following a long battle with medical issues.
Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the late Melvin and Elcenia Dillard, Kerry spent most of his life and school years in Los Angeles, California. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and lived his faith through an unwavering commitment to his family.
A proud United States Marine, Kerry was true to the spirit of being an officer and a gentleman, earning frequent compliments for his gentle, respectful manner and the way he treated everyone he met. Known for his calm, peaceful nature, Kerry was a natural peacemaker who consistently brought harmony wherever he went.
Professionally, he supported his family's business and enjoyed a long career with the 7 Up Company, where he eventually retired. Above all else, Kerry treasured his family. He was immensely proud of all his children and his 22 grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to share stories about their achievements, big or small.
Kerry was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Elcenia Dillard, and his sister, Tascha Dillard. He leaves to cherish his memory: Wife: Tammy Dillard. Children: Kwinton; Bia (Syntyche); Brandon (Aja); Jamal; Aaliyah; Atalah; Joseph; and Jaleesa, Sisters: Angie Miller (Darrel) and Danielle Shallowhorn, Brothers: Keith (Robin); Bernard; Kevin (Althea); and Tyron (Martha), 22 beloved grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
