Kenneth Dean Sims

Kenneth Dean Sims, age 67, of Millbury, Ohio, peacefully passed away on June 21, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Born on May 25, 1958, in Toledo to Raymond H. and Betty A. (Baumgartner) Sims, Ken touched many lives during his time with us.

Ken dedicated many years of his career to Norplas and Hollywood Casino. He found joy in spending time with his beloved family, taking long walks with his dogs, restoring classic cars, and welding. Those who knew Ken will cherish the memory of his generous spirit; he was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for his big heart.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen (Schramm) Sims, and his children: Joshua (Kristie) Reece, Kendra (Todd) Miolla, Kandance Miller, and Kassie (Joe) DeStazio. He leaves behind an adoring group of grandchildren: Jacob, Cole, Leo, Blake, Evon, Jackson, Asher, Allison, Jillian, and John V., as well as his brothers, Ronald (Linda) Sims and Keith (Pam) Sims, and sister-in-law, Mary Sims. He was preceded in death by his cherished parents and brother, David Sims.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Newcomer Funeral Home (SW Chapel), located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A private interment will be held at Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society at 827 Illinois Ave., Maumee, OH 43537.
