Kathleen "Kat" Lynn Sutter

Kathy "Kat" Sutter, 64, of Perrysburg, Ohio, left all of us far too soon on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Kat passed away from serious heart issues at St. Vincent's Heart and Vascular Center ICU, Toledo, Ohio, with her loving family by her side.

Kat was born in Toledo, Ohio, November 9, 1961. Kat's dear parents, Jude F. Sutter and Nancy Knuth Sutter, and dear son, Shawn Douglas Sutter preceded her in death. Many other special relatives also preceded her in death, including her uncle, Sam Ferrara; aunt, Carol Knuth Ferrara, and aunt, Maryhelen Knuth.

Kat's sister, Sandy (Bob Pollex) Sutter Pollex and brother, Scott (Blair Dorrell) Sutter survive and are missing her. She leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Alexis Keener and her mother, Rachel Keener, Roman Sutter, Kingston Sutter, Jaxon (Mariah) Sutter, and Weston (Kerstin) Redmond, and their mother, Ashley Sutter; and great-granddaughter, Mariah. Kat is also survived by her partner, Jeff Ptaszynski; former husband, Brian Johnston; close cousins, Sally Knuth and Dr. Tom (Nancy) Knuth, Lynn (Steve) Knuth Hurster; dear uncle, Don Knuth of Connecticut; The Hunter Family, The Sutter Family, The McAvoy Family, and good friends, Nick (Sam) Wintersmith, Dawn Hoffer, and Karen Novak, atty.

Kat attended Christ The King Elementary School, the Whitmer High School-GED program, and some college.

Kat was a dedicated Mom, daughter, sister, partner, and friend. She was a free spirit who lived her life her way. She was always direct with you, and you knew exactly where she stood on any given topic. She enjoyed life to the fullest with friends and family. She especially loved warm weather, bare feet, oceans, pools, and Key West. Kat also enjoyed cars and motorcycles, having owned and rode various ones through the years. She was very creative and inquisitive. She enjoyed learning as much as she could on the computer and in recent years, she did Beta Testing for Microsoft Corp. and made many Tik Tok's. Kat was also a music enthusiast, of any genre, and she played the guitar. She could often be found playing Pokémon with her grandkids. Recently, she purchased a bread making machine and taught herself to make all kinds of delicious loafs of bread. She especially loved making cinnamon bread. Next year, she planned to have a nice garden with beautiful fresh foods.

Kat was a huge animal lover, so much so that she started a dog rescue. She built a kennel next to her house that held 10 unplaceable dogs. Kat worked with these dogs when no one else could until they passed, she was truly a Dog Whisperer. She also helped Kenny and Corinna with Tiger Ridge (animal sanctuary).

Kat cared her mother for many years as she battled MS (Multiple Sclerosis). Kat would visit her parent's home many times each day and made dinner for them most days.

Kat loved sharing belly laughs, enjoyed her home/farm with wide open space, and being with family and friends. Kat's heart ended up being weak but her heart was totally full of love and life.
