Karl H. Ruecker

Karl H. Ruecker, born on May 9, 1932, in Freiburg Schlesien, Germany, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2025, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose impact on his family and community will be cherished and remembered for years to come.

Karl built a successful career as a meat manager and butcher at Kroger, where he was known not only for his skills but also for his dedication and work ethic.After retiring from Kroger he was employed part time at Dresch Tolson Dental Lab as a driver retiring from there in 2022.

A man of many interests, Karl enjoyed tennis and soccer. He loved playing pool, and the companionship during games with family and friends. A true car enthusiast, Karl enjoyed caring for his car and admiring classics. For many years he cared and maintained his fish tank, where he loved watching the fish swim around.

Karl was proud of his family and found joy in the time spent with them. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Ruecker, and children: Jana (Jeff) Leeper, Gary (Sue) Yoder, Ann (Pat) Kuhlenbeck, Alan Yoder, Dan (Jen) Yoder, and Regina (Jim) Britts. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Erin, Rachel, Emily, Kristina, Patrick, Ben, Adam, Abby, Craig, Sam, Alexis, Lily, and Lauren, as well as several great-grandchildren who will carry forward his spirit and values.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents Martha and Gustav Ruecker, brother Kurt (Ella) Ruecker, and son Sven Ruecker. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on August 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Toledo, located at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
