Listen to Obituary

Karen Sue Johnson, age 75, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away and went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 16, 2026. Born on December 13, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Roy E. and Virginia (Clark) Johnson.

Karen was a proud graduate of R. C. Start High School, Class of 1968. Following high school, she attended LPN school at Indiana Vocational Technical College before continuing her nursing education at The University of Toledo. She went on to dedicate her career to caring for others at The Toledo Hospital, where she worked for more than 25 years before retiring. Her years of hard work and dedication reflected her commitment to her profession and the people she served.

Karen loved the Lord and found comfort and joy in her faith. She was a member of Grace Community Church in Oregon, Ohio, where she participated in Bible study and shared in fellowship with others. Her faith was an important part of her life, and those who loved her can find comfort in knowing that she is now rejoicing in the presence of her Lord and Savior.

In her free time, Karen enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her beloved cats. She especially treasured the time she spent with her dear friend Micki. Whether tending to her garden, getting lost in a good book, or enjoying the companionship of her cats and friends, Karen found joy in the simple things that made life special.

Those left to forever cherish Karen’s memory include her loving sister, Debi Johnson; second cousins (who were like nieces and nephews to her), Josh and Amy Bolakowski, and Rebekah, Kendra and Ethan Garner; and cousins, Brenda (Dick) Bolakowski and Kevin (Shawna) Garner. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and all those whose lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her beloved aunt, Thelma (Allen) Garner, who held a very special place in her heart. Karen shared a close and cherished bond with her aunt, whose memory remained dear to her.

Though Karen will be deeply missed by those who loved her, they can take comfort in knowing that she has been welcomed home into the loving arms of the Lord.
