June Myrtle Reid, age 97, of Whitehouse, Ohio, passed away on September 28, 2026, at Browning Masonic Retirement Community. Born on October 9, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York, to Arthur and Myrtle (Young) Leitch, her early years were marked by her father's involvement in building the Empire State Building. The family, originally from Canada, returned there soon after June's birth, where she grew up and trained as a Registered Nurse.

In 1960, June moved back to the United States and dedicated her career to St. Luke's Hospital, retiring after 30 years of service. She and her beloved husband, John Reid, were active members of the Eagles on Jackman Road, sharing a passion for polka dancing and attending polka cruises together.

June is survived by her daughter, Chris (Richard) Sinkey; sister, Nancy Harnischfeger; grandchildren, Ross (Jessica) Reid, Jerry (Lidia) Reid, Erik Szalkowski, and Bisan Ashab; great-grandsons, Drake Szalkowski, Henry Reid, and George Reid; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Lori Waters, Sara Hoyle, Scott Waters, and Ron Reid. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, sons Danny and John Reid, grandson Joel Szalkowski, sister Eveline Waters, and nieces Nancy Styles and Carla Sywak.
