Juanita Carol Shellito, born on August 1, 1946, in Temperance, Michigan, gracefully departed from this world on May 24, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Clarence, sharing an enduring partnership for 26 cherished years. Juanita's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her community.

A graduate of Bedford High School, Juanita furthered her education, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to learning. In September 1964, she enlisted in the service, where she courageously served in Vietnam, concluding her military journey on July 21, 1965. Her final assignment was with WAC CO BAMC, reflecting her resilience and commitment.

Juanita was a vibrant personality, known for her feisty and enthusiastic spirit. Those who knew her will remember her as a loving, outgoing individual with an infectious energy that brightened the lives of those around her. A generous soul, she was always ready to lend a helping hand, often giving the shirt off her back to those in need. Her active involvement in her church community exemplified her dedication to others, where she served faithfully and lent her voice to the church choir until health concerns impeded her participation.

Throughout her life, Juanita pursued various hobbies that brought her joy, including sewing, knitting, embroidery, and crocheting. Her hands skillfully crafted love into each stitch, enriching the lives of her family and friends with her creations.

Juanita took immense pride in her family. She is survived by her devoted husband Clarence, children Freda, William, and Tawana, and grandchildren Tavina, Tonieka, Thresa, Jaycen, Rhen, Logan, Travis, Chance, Sierra, Cody, and Jasmine, alongside a host of great-grandchildren. Her bond with her siblings, Chet, Sheila, and Lela, was equally treasured, as well as her many adopted children, extended family, and friends, all of whom were touched by her warmth and generosity.

In addition to her immediate family, Juanita was preceded in death by her father, Robert, her mother, Roberta, and her sister, Sande. These beloved family members carry on in the memories and hearts of those she left behind.

A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Northwest Toledo, located at 4150 W Laskey Rd, Toledo, OH 43623, on June 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on June 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service commemorating her life, starting at 2:00 PM on the same day.

Juanita Carol Shellito’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her spirit of generosity, love, and resilience will never be forgotten.
